Day 1: Nairobi/Samburu
Depart from Nairobi and drive north through agricultural farmlands, crossing the equator enroute then down into the arid, thorny landscape of Samburu country which is known for it's northern species of game seldom found south of the equator. You will find the Grevy's zebra, Beisa Oryx, reticulated giraffe, Somali Ostrich, long-necked gerenuk, and dainty dik dik and most beautiful bird life in Kenya. You'll also see herds of elephant, plains game and their predators. Lunch at budget camp followed by game drive. Dinner and overnight at budget camp.
Day 2: Samburu
You will explore the banks of River Uaso Nyiro where you might have a chance of spotting crocodiles. You will also have a chance of seeing elephant, leopard, cheetah among other wild. In addition, Samburu National Reserve is a paradise for bird lovers, with over 350. You will have an option of visiting Samburu cultural village at extra cost. All meals served and overnight at budget camp.
Day 3: Samburu/Lake Nakuru
After breakfast depart from Samburu for Nyahururu where you will have a stopover at Thomson fall, to admire the scenic views of the fall and a walk to explore the surrounding area before you proceed to Lake Nakuru arriving in time for lunch at guest house/budget hotel. Later you will proceed for game drive with a chance to see Rhino, waterbuck, buffalo not forgetting a chance to explore the shores of lake Nakuru, with luck you might see flamingos among other birds. You will return to WCK guest house/budget hotel to wait for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Lake Nakuru/Lake Naivasha & Hell's gate Park
After breakfast you will depart from Nakuru for Lake Naivasha and continue with your safari to Hell's gate National Park where you will have a chance to explore the park either on foot or by cycling among giraffe, Zebra, gazelle before you proceed for a guided walk through the gorge. Lunch will be served at budget camp before you proceed for an hour's boat ride with chances of seeing hippo and different species of birds. You will return to budget camp to wait for dinner followed by overnight.
Day 5: Lake Naivasha/Maasai Mara game reserve
After breakfast you will depart for the renowned Maasai Mara game reserve which is Kenya's premier game reserve. The Mara is actually the northern portion of the great plain’s ecosystem in neighboring Tanzania called the Serengeti. It is the home of the "big five" - lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino and elephant, as well as cheetah, zebra, giraffe and vast herds of plains antelope and numerous other wildlife. You will arrive in time for lunch at budget camp. Late afternoon proceed for game drive to explore the plains of Maasai Mara before you return to budget camp to wait for dinner followed by overnight.
Day 6: Maasai Mara game reserve
Optional early morning hot air balloon ride. You will spend the whole day exploring the Maasai Mara plains with a visit to the mara river where you will have a chance of seeing hippo and crocodile not forgetting a chance to witness the world's most spectacular natural phenomenon of large herds of wildebeest migration if you are visiting through July-September. All meals will be served and overnight at budget camp.
Day 7: Maasai Mara game reserve/Nairobi
Early morning game drive followed by late breakfast. With picnic lunch leave Maasai Mara with an optional visit to Maasai cultural village en route as you depart for Narok and continue with your journey to Nairobi with a stopover at the Great Rift Valley to admire the Scenic beauty of the Escarpments. You will arrive in time for your onward journey connections.
