Operating all year round, our tour departs daily from the Whitianga Wharf. Come on board, meet the captain and crew. As we leave the harbour we cruise along Buffalo Beach, Shakespeare Cliff and Cooks Beach. Guests are treated to fun commentary of the area as well as Maori and European history. Next stop is Te Whanganui A Hei marine reserve and of course Cathedral Cove. This natural wonder draws many people to our coastline and is a big highlight of the tour. In the marine reserve we can view large schools of fish and marine life through the glass panels. We continue along our stunning coastline which is full of hidden gems including sea caves, amazing volcanic rock formations and pinnacles. Marine life can be viewed along the coast all the way to Orua sea cave, one of New Zealand's largest sea caves which we can travel inside. From here we turn and head back into the marine reserve. Snorkelling is a big hit on our tours. You can choose to stay dry and view through the glass or jump in and experience swimming with the fish first hand. All snorkel equipment is on board and free of charge. Our vessel holds a mammal watch permit which allows us to view any whales, dolphins, orca or seals that can be seen along the coast. Our tour is the best way to see Cathedral Cove and the marine reserve, as we are on the only boat that offers you a window into the underwater world. We are highly ranked on Tripadvisor and hold a Silver Qualmark award for sustainable tourism.
