On this tour you will visit “La Villa”, as it’s popularly known the Basilica of Guadalupe.
This is the most visited site in the world by Catholics, and one of the 20 most visited places in the world, overall. It receives more than twenty million pil- grims each year.
The Virgin of Guadalupe in Mexico is not only a religious symbol, it also helps defining Mexican identity, and in many Latin American homes, tribute to the Virgin of Guadalupe is paid.
Throughout this tour, you’ll get to see the influence in Mexican culture, both for believers and nonbelievers. On this tour you can admire both the present and the old basilica, and also climb the Tepeyac Hill, where the miracle of the apparition of fresh flowers and the first of the apparitions of Our Lady of Guadalupe is remembered.
Then we will visit the Museum of the Basilica, located in the old Capuchin convent where we’ll see a large collection of novo-hispanic art, composed of a large collection of cultural items.
You’ll also have free time to explore on your own or go to Mass.
