Our round trip return tour lasts for 45 minutes. Firstly, we take you up to a small Franciscan island, home to a beautiful 13th chapel, which also known as The Grey Friars island. We then pass under the 12th century Eastbridge Hospital and Kings Bridge, continuing down river past some medieval buildings, including the Old Weavers House, The Kings Mill and the Cromwellian iron forge. After some wonderful views of Canterbury Cathedral, the tour then passes through the Dominican priors which were built by the Black Friars in the 14th century, and ends up in a peaceful garden area, that was the site of the old Abbots Mill in the city. We then return, passing the Marlowe theatre, to our starting point which is home to the infamous ducking stool!
Each boat is chauffeured by one of our team, who acts as your guide to the sights up on the river by giving you the enjoyable history of all the different buildings that you will pass along the way.
